Cascades
Colonial Accommodation is situated on the shores of Norfolk Bay on Tasmanias
historic Tasman Peninsula . Cascades is a prime location from
which to explore the rich convict history of Port Arthur and the Saltwater
River Coal Mines, the natural beauty of the Tasman National Park as well as
the many other attractions the Tasman Peninsula has to offer.
Guests have an exclusive opportunity of staying at an authentically restored, self-contained, convict built cottage set in a private waterfront environment, each with log fire, antique furniture and full breakfast provisions included.
The newly restored Luxury Cottage is a spacious cottage and offers central heating, queen size bed, double spa and two bathrooms.
Cascades
Colonial Accommodation is steeped
in history and is itself an historic attraction. As a Probation
Station (part of the Port Arthur settlement) it once housed up to 400 convicts.
"Cascades" has been owned by the Clark
family for five generations.
Cascades also offers a private museum, cell block and walks that allow guests to combine history and nature as they walk along the waterfront to the site of the convict wharf or follow the rivulet into the rainforest to the remains of the convict sawmill and stone quarry.
